RUGBY POLICIES

We at St Michaels, encourage all boys to participate in the College’s primary sport Rugby Union. It is a great way to have fun, meet new friends and cement existing relationships. The primary goal is for the boys to become involved in a sport that promotes positive physical health and of course provides enjoyment.  Some important policies are listed below.

Concussion.

A Guide to Concussion - Click HERE.

Discipline.

The school promotes the traditional spirit of the game of Rugby Union and any act contrary to the established laws and/or values of the game will be dealt with by the relevant person in charge. In the case of a serious indiscretion the Director of Rugby, Year Head &/or the Deputy Principal/Principal may become involved. In the case of events in and around rugby matches/trainings but not an indiscretion on the field, the regular student code of behavior applies which can be found by clicking here: School Code of Conduct. Destruction of property, abusive language and any act of unsportsmanlike conduct will result in disciplinary action being taken against the offending individual.

Support.

We welcome all support from the St. Michael’s Community and beyond. We ask that all supporters act in accordance with the following: No supporter will enter the field of play at any time. No supporter will direct negative or abusive comments to the match officials or any other person.

Supplements.

St Michael’s College fully endorses the IRFU recommendations and guidelines with regard to supplementation. We encourage all players to only focus on good eating and drinking practices. The IRFU policy is available in full at the link here: Supplements & The Young Player.
